The Prevention Effectiveness and Health Economics Branch (PEHEB; proposed), Career Development Division (CDD), Office of Workforce Development (OWCD) invites you to our most exciting event of the year! The 10th-Year Prevention Effectiveness (PE) Fellowship Anniversary, the 2006 Annual PE Conference, and the 2006 PE Fellowship Graduation Ceremony, all occurring in one day, promise to provide you with an optimum overview of the investment in public health through PE research at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The Steven M. Teutsch postdoctoral PE Fellowship was established in 1995 at CDC. The goal of the 2-year training fellowship in PE methods was to build capacity at CDC for quantitative policy analysis, with a focus on public health. A decade has gone by since the initiation of the PE Fellowship, and PEHEB is planning celebrations to mark the 10-year accomplishment to be held on August 17, 2006, at CDC headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.

The celebrations will consist of three major program activities: The 10th-Year PE Fellowship Anniversary celebrates the training program's legacy and marks its contributions, continued presence, challenges, and potential for future success. The 2006 Annual PE Conference highlights PE and public health economics research contributions of current PE Fellows. The 2006 PE Fellowship Graduation celebrates completion by the class of 2004 of 2 years of postdoctoral training in PE methods and becoming program alumni. Please join us in Atlanta on August 17, 2006!

This event is co-sponsored the Prevention Effectiveness Consortium on Health and Education.
